I watch her, so close, but unable to touch her. I was surprised by her taking of my ashes. I was almost surprised by her tears, but I knew better.

Oh Katya...

I'm realizing now that there were so many things I should have thought of before I made the choice that I did. The tears on her face reminds what to do before I'm dead. It's too late, and again she's dying on the inside from having to say goodbye.

She's walking away because of me, and she shouldn't. She needs Shadowcat as much as the world needs her.

Wake up...is this the dream of a dream of a dream? I want Kitty to come back. I want Colossus to not be dead. She wasn't my best friend, but she was someone he loved. I know he's not handling her departure calmly, nor is he close to accepting it.

Is this what happens to all of us? Will I get tired of saying the goodbyes?
