Fandom: Chronicles Of Narnia
Words: 287
Notes: Just a ficlet that came to me
Lucy stepped through the trees and greeted the Dryads who had been waiting for her. They were teaching her to dance as a new Prince was coming to Narnia and he wanted to see the four rulers of Narnia. Lucy was at the age where she was interested in making a good impression on visitors to their Kingdom, but she wasn't as into the dancing and the entertaining as much as her sister, Susan. However when Edmund had looked at her in that way of his and said, "Please, Lu," she knew that she would do whatever she could to bring a smile to her brother's face again. He smiled so rarely these days that she worried for him. She wondered if he was still thinking of Her and everything they had been through since coming to Narnia.
She started mimicing the steps that the Dryads were teaching her -- and who better to learn to dance from than the Dryads -- and found that she couldn't stop thinking about how they had all changed since coming into Narnia from... well, from wherever they had come from.
It was Edmund who changed the most, though, and Lucy knew that it had a great deal to do with Jadis and how she had almost killed him when they fought the war with her and her creatures. If Father Christmas hadn't given Lucy that healing cordial, they might well have lost Edmund.
But we didn't lose him, Lucy reminded herself as she continued listening the instructions of the Dryads. The cordial saved him and he is with us even now.
Yes, he was with them, but he had gotten a little more serious since that day.
