Summary: "Have you ever lied to someone you love?"
Notes: Ziva knows all about these kinds of lies.

"Have you ever lied to someone you love, Ziva?"
"Yeah, Tony, I have."
"Did they ever forgive you for it?"
"They never found out."

It was true. As of yet, the main one she loved and lied to had not found out the truth. He had no idea that every day she was with him, she lied to him about the things she felt. It wasn't in anything he could ever notice, really. She was very good at hiding the truth when she needed to. It's what had kept her alive for so many years when she was in the army, after all.

Every day, she worked in close proximity with him and baited him, treating him like he was just someone she knew and worked with. She teased him and argued points with him about everything. She was just as competitive as he was and she enjoyed contesting things with him. They worked some of the hardest cases together, and she watched his back carefully.

He was her partner. He was maybe a friend. He was someone that she trusted at her side or at her back when things got loud or messy.

But she still lied to him. She lied to him every day by not telling him how she felt.

By not telling him that she was in love with him.

It seemed like such a small lie when she started. She had no idea how strong the feelings were going to get.

Or how much it was going to hurt to hear him say he was in love with someone else.

I love your Ziva; in my jaded world I haven't seen this side to her (yet), I hope to soon! Good write!
