It was the magazine that caused it, really, and not the fact that Tadashi would do almost anything for Liric.

No, really.

Okay, maybe just a little bit. But it was mostly the magazine's fault.

He had seen Liric reading a magazine and that wasn't really a concern. They had spent the last few days searching for her sister until Liric was ready to drop from exhaustion. In one of those rare times, Tadashi put his foot down and told her that she needed to get some rest.

"Seren is out there somewhere, Tadpole," she had argued. "We have to find her! What if she's in trouble?!"

"We will find her," he had assured her. "But if she is in trouble, how are you going to be able to help her if you're too exhausted to hold yourself up?"

"My baby sister needs me!" she yelled at him, even as she dropped down to sit on the bed in the hotel room.

"Your sister needs you rested and whole," he said bad, his tone never sounding anything but calm. "Showing up to rescue her and falling unconscious at her feet will help no one."

Somehow, his words finally got to Liric and after taking a shower, she laid down on the hotel bed. "I'm just resting for a few minutes and then we'll go search for her some more," she warned.

Tadashi nodded and stretched out beside her. "I know, love. A few minutes is all I'm asking for."

It wasn't a surprise to him when after a few minutes, Liric fell asleep. As he held her, Tadashi started flipping through the magazine that she had been reading earlier. He came to one of the pages and his eyes widened slightly. He looked down at Liric, and then back to the magazine. After a few moments, he started to smile.

So see, it really was the magazine's fault that when Liric woke up she was greeted with Tadashi...

...wearing nothing but a top hat and a smile.
