When the moon laughed at her, she realized that she needed to do something to keep her grip on her sanity.
She had been dreaming again. Only this time, she wasn’t sure if she was asleep or if she had woken up at some point during the dream. It was the same dream she had been having for the last few weeks.
Herself amongst a tangle of limbs and a head of red hair alongside two brunettes.
The vividness of the dreams had surprised her. For one thing, she had never dreamed in such detail before – and she had never ever dreamt of being together with more than one man before. In all of her life, she hadn’t had that kind of dream – and she never expected to have them about these men in particular.
After all, she was madly in love with Becker. Connor and Danny were just really close friends. She had never seen them in any other way but as friends – no matter how much time all four of them had spent together before she, Danny and Connor had gone through that last anomaly.
This time when she woke up in her cave shelter, it took a few moments for her to realize that the sensations she thought she had felt were only from the dream. The hands exploring her, lips worshiping her…
It didn’t help her frame of mind any to admit that it had been her reactions to that dream which woke her up this time.
She had been here and alone too damn long.
According to her journal, she had been trapped in this time for a little bit over nine months so far. It really was no wonder she was having such erotic dreams about her boyfriend and two best mates.
Only dreams. Nothing like that would ever happen in real life. She would never tell Becker about those dreams if she ever got back home. She would never hurt him by letting him know that while she was away, and had no idea if she would see him again, she had dreamed about being in bed with all three of them. If she ever saw him again she would keep that secret to herself.
When.
When she got back home. When she was back home where she belonged. She had to hold onto the belief that she would someday see him again.
Sighing, she got to her feet and started packing up her belongings. It was time to move on. It was starting to get cold and the herds she kept her eyes on in the valley were already starting to move. She wasn’t sure where they were going, but she would bet they were heading towards a warmer climate if she was right and winter was coming. The plant eaters would head to a warmer place, and the predators would all follow. If she was going to continue to survive here, she had to follow the herds like every other predator.
