Kitty was curled up in one of the oversized chairs, watching the snow falling outside the window when Illyana found her. Without saying a word, Illyana plopped down next to her, laying her head on her shoulder. They passed some time like this in comfortable silence before Illyana finally spoke.

"Another year almost down, huh, Pryde?"

Kitty nodded with a small smile. "And then a new year will begin."

"And it will be a great one."

Kitty turned her face to hers. "How can you tell?"

Illyana smiled as she leaned in closer. "Because it's already starting on a good note," she said against Kitty's lips before kissing her gently.
